donald miller booking information and faq
Thank you for your interest in booking a speaking engagement with Donald Miller.
Currently we are packaging Donald’s presentations in two ways, but please know that we are willing to discuss tailoring his session(s) to meet your needs as much as possible. Speaking packages include:
1. One 45-minute session with a 15-minute question and answer time (if this fits your format), followed by a time in which he will sell and sign his books; or,
2. A day and a half event, containing 3 – 45 minute sessions (more academic in nature), and he will sell and sign books after each session. In Donald's single sessions, he typically will read from his newest material as it applies to your specific event; this with the Q&A has proven to be very effective. The honorarium for Don begins at $4,500 per session with a discount considered if speaking multiple times for the same organization (one Q&A per booking is included in the honorarium).
*Is the booking honorarium for DM negotiable?
The standard honorarium is $4,500, before expenses. This amount is subject to some change, depending on variables such as location, audience, date, time, theme, etc. In order to best determine the honorarium required for your event, we ask that you would complete a Booking Inquiry Form so that we can get a holistic picture of your event.
*What is included in the "additional expenses"?
Typical expenses include airfare, rental car costs, hotel(s), and meals. These costs vary widely from event to event, and cannot be determined at the time of booking. Once your event is booked, a Road Manager or Travel Coordinator will contact you within 6 weeks of the event in order to confirm final expenses.
*Why do I have to fill out a form?
A completed BIF gives a Chaffee Management booking agent(s) a holistic picture of a proposed event, including a barrage of variables that help us determine availability, cost, travel, time, etc. Without this broad-strokes picture, it is much more difficult to discuss and negotiate the finer details of an event. Your thoroughness in completing this form allows us to serve you in a more timely and effective manner.
*What if I don't know all of the info on the form at this time?
Mark the blank "to be determined (tbd)", and explain where possible. Rarely are all the details set in stone, and we understand the need for flexibility. We will work with you as much as we can, but it is most helpful to know what details we are waiting on, and which ones are simply unknown.
*Can I contact Donald Miller directly?
You may email correspondence with Donald Miller to info@burnsidewriterscollective.com. We welcome your thoughts and comments. Please bear in mind, however, that Donald may not be able to respond personally due to his busy writing and touring schedule.
*I'm an author. Does DM do book endorsements?
No. Unfortunately, we are unable to take or forward any requests for endorsements by any authors.
*How long does it take to receive an answer back about Donald’s availability to appear at my event?
Once received, completed Booking Inquiry Forms are submitted to a booking agent for review. Please expect return correspondence no sooner than 1 week after the form is submitted. If the planning of your event requires specific deadlines, please note these deadlines in the "Additional Thoughts/Comments" of the Booking Inquiry Form to allow us to serve you better.
