Donald Miller booking information and faq


Currently we are booking Donald’s fall 2009
sixty-five city US and Canada tour entitled:

A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, An Evening with Donald Miller and Friends


This tour will be a “road” tour, Don will be traveling on a bus or car for the duration of the tour so the dates are routed for driving.

The Evening will be comprised of Donald speaking and reading from his new book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years…What I learned while Editing My Life, the evening will also include appearances from one or two other Christian author/comedians yet to be determined.

* What is the honorarium to host the tour?

When the event is finished, it is our hope that the tour will not costing your church/organization anything. Here how it works:
Tickets for the event will be sold for $15 (may very in some markets)
The honorarium for the evening is $4500. You will be asked to send in a $900 deposit (which is included in the $4500 honorarium) with your signed contract. The remaining $3600 will be due the night of the event.
Your organization will be asked to cover the expenses for the promotion of the event.
The night of the event, the tour will settle the event with the promoter and pay back as much as the honorarium and expenses from the ticket sales.

Example: You sell 525 tickets @ $15 = $7875
Tour honorarium = 4500
Promotion expenses = 3000
Balance after honorarium and expenses = 375
A split in net profits (after honorarium and approved expenses) will be negotiated. Please understand the tour will only be cost free to your church/organization if enough tickets are sold to cover both the honorarium and the expenses.


*What is included in the "approved expenses"?

Promotional kits (posters, flyers, radio and video spots, copies of participants books for on air giveaway – approx. $300), radio advertising, hotel(s), meals, venue costs, tech costs. All of these expenses must be approved in advance by Chaffee Management.

*What help can I expect in the promotion of the Event?*

A lot! Chaffee Management Group will work with you in the process of printing your posters and flyers and ordering tickets.
Jpg’s of posters, flyers and web banners will be available online for all of Donald’s fans to utilize in the promotion of “The Million Miles…” tour in their area.
Regular e-blasts, along with tweets and text messages will go out to Donald Miller’s 20,000+ list informing them of tour specifics.
Donald’s publisher will be handling promotions to their Church list in each event market along with national radio and publicity coverage for his new book and tour.
*Pastors luncheons*

In most markets we would like to invite all local pastors and church leaders to a luncheon sponsored by Thomas Nelson and The Mentoring project. These leaders will be encouraged upon the time of their RSVP to the luncheon to begin promotions for “The Million Miles..” tour in their churches. These luncheons when held will be sponsored and paid for by an outside organization yet to be determined.

*How long does it take to receive an answer back about Donald’s availability to appear at my event?

Once received, completed Booking Inquiry Forms are submitted to a booking agent for review. Please expect return correspondence no sooner than 1 week after the form is submitted.
